Closed 13 Apr 2018

The 2016–2017 review of the UE requirements concluded that the contents of the List needed to be evaluated. As a result, NZQA has carried out a review to ensure that all the standards on the List provide appropriate evidence of the reading and writing skills required for university-level study.

To gather feedback on the proposed changes, the following are available:

The survey can be completed online, or there is a copy in the back of the consultation document, which can be scanned and emailed to or posted to:

It would be appreciated if we could have your feedback by Friday, 13 April 2018. Feedback to the questions posed in the consultation document and survey will inform what happens next.

NZQA expects to communicate the final decisions on the proposed changes from August 2018. If the proposed changes and timeframes are agreed, the updated List will apply from January 2020.
