Changes to student fee protection rules to include agents' fees

As part of the NZQA rules work programme, NZQA has re-opened consultation on rules for student fee protection.
NZQA appreciates comments received on the recent consultation. In view of the feedback received, the proposals relating to agents' fees have been modified, and the consultation period has now been extended to Wednesday 12 October 2011. NZQA welcomes second submissions from previous submitters.
The proposed Student Fee Protection Rules (PDF, 104KB) reflect current policy and the main requirements for private training establishments are largely unchanged.
Responses should be emailed to NZQA at improvingperformance@nzqa.govt.nz by 12 October 2011.
The Education Amendment Act 2011 gives NZQA the power to make rules. As part of its rules work programme, NZQA will be consulting the sector on proposed rules until the end of 2012.
