Te Rautaki Māori 2012-2017 Public Consultation
Closed 09 Mar 2012
The New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) is seeking feedback on the refreshed Te Rautaki Māori a te Mana Tohu Mātauranga o Aotearoa for 2012-2017.
This will be NZQA's second official Māori strategy. Importantly, Te Rautaki Māori 2012-2017 outlines NZQA's commitment to the Government education sector goal of Māori achieving education success as Māori.
Purpose of the Strategy
The strategic framework set out in the draft Te Rautaki Māori 2012-2017 articulates goals and implementation pathways identified through a series of engagements with iwi and Māori educationalists in 2011.
The two key goals are:
1. Accelerated Māori learner success; and
2. Advanced use of mātauranga Māori
These two goals are distinct in their own right, yet mutually reinforcing of each other.
Te manu ka kai i te miro, nōna te ngahere.
Te manu ka kai i te mātauranga, nōna te ao.
What we want from you:
Your feedback on the draft strategy is important to us. We encourage you to discuss it with others in your whānau, hapū and iwi, your organisation and your sector. Please use the feedback form to provide your comments, save and return to terautaki@nzqa.govt.nz or post to NZQA Office of the Deputy Chief Executive Māori , PO Box 160, Wellington 6140, by 9 March 2012.
