Compliance notices issued to Private Training Establishments
16 Jul 2010
On July 13 - 14 NZQA issued Compliance Notices to 42 private training establishments (PTEs) for failing to submit the necessary documents for their Annual Return, as required as part of their registration criteria.
The Annual Return requires PTEs to provide both a Statutory Declaration (of compliance) and a Chartered Accountant Professional Attestation, which make up the Annual Return.
All PTEs with a 31 March 2010 financial year-end, were required to provide the Annual Return by 30 June 2010.
These Compliance Notices were issued to 42 PTEs that had failed to provide one or both of these documents.
"The new quality assurance system is based on a high-trust and high-accountability approach. Where PTEs are not complying with registration criteria, they will be held accountable, and these compliance notices are part of this process," said Deputy Chief Executive, Quality Assurance Tim Fowler.
"We know that most PTEs comply and the PTE sector organisations agree with this action."
