New guidelines and learner resource for CRT and RPL

Earlier this year the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) undertook consultation on Guidelines for the recognition and award of credit for learning (the Guidelines)

The Guidelines provide advice and information to tertiary education organisations (TEOs) so they can develop policies and processes to enable further recognition of learning for credit.

Eighty per cent of submissions to the consultation said that the Guidelines supported TEOs either well or very well to develop the systems, policies and processes for effective recognition of learning for credit. Submitters also provided other useful feedback.

As a result of this consultation NZQA has also prepared a resource for learners with information on how their skills and knowledge from previous formal and non-formal learning can be recognised for credit towards a qualification.
