Level 3 statistics examination

25 Nov 2016

NZQA advises and apologises for an error in a Level 3 Statistics examination paper (standard 91585) during yesterday afternoon's examination, says Deputy Chief Executive, Kristine Kilkelly.

“In the examination there was an error in a data table in one of the three questions that meant students couldn’t answer part of that question.”

“Notwithstanding the comprehensive quality assurance processes we have in place, the error has been made and we are sorry that occurred. We are investigating to find out exactly how it occurred.”

“We are committed to ensuring that no student will be disadvantaged as a result.”

“The examination papers will be marked as normal by the panel that has been made aware of the issue - they will take this into account when grading students' work.”

If students have any further queries about their examination they should speak with their teacher or school.
