New guidelines for programme approval and tertiary education provider accreditation
01 Nov 2011
NZQA has developed new Guidelines for approval of programmes leading to qualifications listed on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework and accreditation of tertiary education providers (PDF, 393KB).
The Guidelines apply to programmes leading to a qualification listed at levels 1-6 and certificates and diplomas at level 7 on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF).
They provide programme owners, education providers and quality assurance body analysts with information and guidance about both how to meet the criteria for programme approval and for accreditation to deliver a programme leading to a qualification listed on the NZQF.
NZQA has also updated information on programme approval and provider accreditation and more information can be found on this website.
Any programmes leading to reviewed or new qualifications listed on the NZQF will be affected by these changes. Following a qualification review and/or the approval of new qualifications, programme owners will need to review their programmes and map them against the qualification outcomes.
More information on qualification reviews is available on this website.
