New Zealand Record of Achievement launched

25 May 2017

NZQA is working with learners, education providers and employers to ensure that their needs are met in a world that is increasingly global, digital and connected.

As part of this work, NZQA has refreshed the Record of Achievement, the official transcript of national qualifications and standards.

Now known as the New Zealand Record of Achievement (NZRoA), the new record is a secure electronic record that is accessible anywhere, anytime through the learner’s portal on NZQA’s website.

New functionality and features allow learners to:

  • create a full or partial electronic transcript of their qualifications, awards and standards
  • update contact details, choose to add the education organisation which awarded the qualification, organise achievements by date or levels, and display their most relevant and/or most up-do-date qualifications and components of learning
  • save and share a pdf of the record with a third party, with a service available on the NZQA website for the recipient to verify the record has not been altered, and is an authentic document.

The NZRoA will ensure that learners’ records are as comprehensive and useful as possible when job-searching or applying for further learning, and will support lifelong learners.

The NZRoA will progressively include all qualifications achieved across the 10 levels of the NZQF. This includes university qualifications and non-standards based qualifications which were not previously recorded, making it a more useful resource for learners who want evidence of their academic achievements in a single document.

A full New Zealand Record of Achievement can still be requested in printed form. More information on how to obtain a copy of your NZRoA can be found here.
