A symposium for assessors and students of Toi Māori (Raranga, Whakairo and Rauangi) Ringa Toi – Celebrating Student Success

Date: Friday 8 May 2015

Venue: Te Wānanga o Aotearoa, Porirua Campus, 3/5 Heriot Drive, Porirua

Time:  9.30 am – 4.00 pm

Cost: $75 assessor; $35 student.

The venue will open at 8.15 am and the pōhiri will begin at 8.45 am.

The New Zealand Qualifications Authority and Te Wānanga o Aotearoa are hosting a symposium for secondary school and non-university tertiary provider assessors and students of Toi Māori (Raranga, Whakairo, Rauangi). The symposium will feature guest speakers and include assessment workshops.

Aims of the symposium

Assessors new to standards-based assessment will benefit from attending the symposium. Participants can engage in professional discussion with Toi Māori assessors and/or students about:

  • interpreting standards
  • assessment resource design
  • different modes of assessment
  • assessment and moderation issues.

“Ringa Toi – Celebrating Student Success” exhibition showcasing Toi Māori

An exhibition created by students will be held later this year. Further information about this will be provided at the symposium.
