Social Studies Level 1 Assessment Format Change for 2010
A2010/007 - 20 Apr 2010
The Assessment Specifications for Social Studies level 1 Achievement Standard 90216 were updated in January 2010 to include the following information about the assessment format for the 2010 examination papers.
The format of the assessment is now as follows:
- Examination question(s) will be resource-based. A variety of resources will be provided, which will be used to assess conceptual understanding related to this achievement standard.
- Candidates will receive a Resource Booklet and a combined Question and Answer Booklet.
- A planning page will be provided as part of the question and answer booklet. Markers may use responses made on the planning page as evidence.
Relevant material from a candidate’s course of study can be used if it is clearly linked to the resource material. Sample papers in this format were produced in 2005, 2006, and 2007 and can be found on the NZQA website.
