The format of the level 3 Te Reo Māori examination will change for 2016

91652 Pānui kia mōhio ki te reo Māori o te ao whānui, and 91653 Tuhi i te reo Māori o te ao whānui, will have questions in Te Reo Māori only, and candidates will be required to answer only in Te Reo Māori.

Kaupapa

In the Assessment specifications for the writing standards, at all levels, there are no kaupapa (subject) or horopaki (contexts).

Examination setters will focus on examination questions that ask candidates to provide evidence of higher order thinking skills at the Kairangi grade.  This will allow candidates to write about kaupapa that are unique to themselves, to their schools, or to their communities.  In other words, candidates’ answers will now be able to reflect the differing issues and contexts relevant to their regions.

Kaiako should use the curriculum document to plan schemes of work for the year.  Kaiako are also encouraged to refer to the Achievement Objectives in the curriculum document.
