Visual Arts verification - NCEA levels 1 and 2 in 2011
This circular provides information about:
- submitting digital portfolio evidence for level 1 verification
- art bags.
Intention to submit digital portfolio evidence for 90916 for verification
Candidates may submit evidence for level 1 achievement standard 90916, Produce a body of work informed by established practice, which develops ideas, using a range of media, in either portfolio or digital portfolio format in 2011. Specific requirements for the format of candidate work for assessment can be found in the 2011 Assessment Specifications.
Verification samples
For levels 1 and 2 verification, schools send seven portfolios for each standard (up to two fields for level 2). Further information on how to submit digital and/or portfolio evidence for level 1 is available on the Visual Arts Portfolio verification page.
Schools should indicate their intent to submit using digital format by completing the Digital Evidence form by July 15 2011.
Art bags
For levels 1 and 2 verification, schools are required to send portfolios in art bags (up to a maximum of three bags) provided by NZQA.
Level 1 submission This is sent in a blue art bag.
Level 2 submission(s) These are sent in red bags. Schools should send submissions from a maximum of two external standards (no more than two red bags).
If you are a school new to teaching Visual Arts at either or both levels 1 and/or 2, please complete the order form.
If your school has lost blue and/or red bags you may order replacement bags. The schedule of costs and how to order are online.
The completed order form should be sent to NZQA by July 15 2011.
