Scholarship Dance 2011
The mode of assessment for Scholarship Dance 2011 is a portfolio submission that includes:
- a DVD recording of the candidate’s own choreography and performance
- a workbook containing written and visual evidence.
It is expected that Dance teachers are familiar with the information, including the Scholarship Dance Assessment Specification, on the Scholarship Subjects page. Further information for the preparation and submission of the DVD (choreography and performance) and workbook can also be found on the Scholarship Subjects Dance page.
A candidate who has entered Scholarship Dance should submit their work with appropriate evidence as set out in the Scholarship Dance Assessment Specifications. The material will be assessed against the Scholarship Dance Performance Standard only.
Scholarship submissions
The due date for Scholarship portfolio submissions is Wednesday 2 November 2011.
Copies of all candidate portfolio submissions must be made and kept securely in schools prior to dispatch.
Another circular will be sent to schools in August detailing how candidate work is to be packed and what materials NZQA will send to schools to assist with this.
Authenticity Form
A copy of the Scholarship Dance Authenticity Form is published on the Scholarship Subjects Dance page. This should be signed by the candidate to indicate that all work that they are submitting for marking is their own work. The teacher should also sign each form. Only one form is required for each candidate.
Return of Scholarship portfolio submissions and assessment schedules
Portfolio submission materials and assessment schedules will not be returned to candidates after marking unless requested and a self-addressed courier bag is enclosed with materials.
