2011 Examination Timetable

The 2011 NCEA and NZ Scholarship examination timetable is now available. The external examination period will run from Thursday 10 November to Wednesday 30 November 2011, as previously advised in S2010/003 Examination Period for 2011 on 27 January 2010.

Examination results will be available to candidates and schools early in 2012.

As in 2010, the format of the timetable for 2011 differs from that in 2009 and preceding years. To minimise timetable clash issues, different levels of a subject are assessed on different days.

Additional examinations have been scheduled on Thursday 10 November, the first day of the examination period. This is to accommodate the five new sessions required in 2011 (Level 1 Art History, Classical Studies and Media Studies; Level 2 Business Studies; and Scholarship Samoan) without increasing the number of potential examination clashes for candidates.

It is important that teachers, school administrators and the school community know the exact dates of all examinations and understand the implications of the examination timetable for student course selections and programme planning.
