Special Assessment Applications (SAC)
At the end of 2010 all schools that made applications for students to use special assessment conditions for internal and external assessment had their SAC spreadsheet returned to them.
Updating SAC spreadsheet
Schools are now asked to update this spreadsheet by removing the names of all candidates who have left the school or who, on the basis of the annual needs analysis, no longer require SAC in 2011. Also noted on the spreadsheet are candidates from whom a new application is required in 2011. These applications should be made as soon as possible before the 15 April closing date.
New applicants
Applications from candidates new to assessment for qualifications in 2011 and those with newly diagnosed conditions or requiring a new application should be made on the application form and emailed along with the updated spreadsheet to SAC@nzqa.govt.nz before the 15 April closing date. It is not necessary to make an application for other candidates listed on the spreadsheet.
Schools that did not have any applicants for SAC in 2010 must complete and send the SAC application form to the SAC mailbox. A spreadsheet will be generated for the school for use in 2011 and beyond.
Full details of the SAC process, including timelines and guidelines, may be found on the NZQA website.
