Top Art exhibition on tour
From 28 March this year, the annual NZQA Top Art Exhibition will be touring the country. A full venue listing is available (PDF, 31KB).
The Visual Arts portfolios of around 50 students who achieved Excellence at level 3 in 2010 will travel to 33 schools, museums, and galleries throughout New Zealand over five months.
Top Art is a chance for Visual Arts students to see first-hand a range of high-calibre art produced by their peers and to gain an idea of what they need to aim for in order to achieve Excellence at level 3 themselves.
This year the exhibition features two new locations – Wairarapa and Wellington Central. Aratoi, the Wairarapa Museum of Art and History, will host the exhibition in the week beginning 27 June, and Wellington High School in the week beginning 4 July.
The dates and venue for the Christchurch exhibition have yet to be determined and schools will be notified in due course.
The exhibition will tour in two sets of approximately 25 portfolios, showcasing each of the five Visual Arts subjects.
A full list of artists and images of a selection of work from the 2011 exhibition will be available at www.topart.govt.nz from 28 March.
