Materials Developers will work in their own time with the Examiner to produce assessment materials for the externally assessed NCEA standards at levels 1, 2, and 3, and scholarship for 2010.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

The Materials Developers will maintain the highest levels of security and confidentiality when

• liaise with the allocated National Assessment Facilitator and Editor
• work with the direction of the Examiner to produce assessment materials for externally assessable achievement standards within the required time frames.
• attend a meeting in September 2009 at which the time line and remuneration for production of the examination will be agreed.
• may attend a meeting in January/February 2010 at which a review of the 2009 examination will occur and inform the development of the 2010 examination.
• Liaising with allocated Secondary Secondary Examinations Team members and other examination contractors
• Working with examination materials

PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL QUALITIES

Materials Developers will demonstrate

• an understanding of the principles of standards based assessment
• experience in developing high quality assessment material for a standards based environment
• professional expertise in standards based assessment
• knowledge of the rights and responsibilities of the partners of the Treaty of Waitangi in an educational assessment setting;
• the ability to establish constructive working relationships with other professionals
• clear and effective communication
• the ability to work to stringent deadlines
• the ability to implement and maintain appropriate administrative and communication systems

The appointees will be contacted by NZQA and trained in Wellington prior to being contracted. The date of this training is Thursday 23rd July 2009.
