NZQA has a formal appointment procedure to ensure that all applicants are fairly treated and the best applicant is selected for the contract. Selection is based on assessing each applicants skills, knowledge, abilities and experience against the role definition for the contract.

When applying for a contract for service please include all relevant information relating to your experience and skills for this contract. Please provide the names and contact numbers of at least two referees who can comment on your subject expertise, leadership and credibility.

The contracts for service may be between individuals and NZQA, or between individual employers and NZQA. It is envisaged that the annual contracts for moderators will be up to 17 days. Suitable applicants will be trained prior to confirmation of appointment. Participation in training does not necessarily mean that a contract for services will be offered. The two day training will take place in Wellington on 11 and 12 November 2009.

An application pack is available from the Secondary Moderation team, New Zealand Qualifications Authority, PO Box 160, Wellington 6140, telephone 04 463 3000.
