Providing quality learning outcomes with and for iwi and Māori is a strategic priority for NZQA.

This means Māori qualifications are developed in partnership with 'Whakaruruhau' or groups of recognised Māori experts from around the country.

NZQA also works 'one-on-one' with Māori education providers to support them in their development aspirations for iwi and Māori. To view all registered providers who offer approved courses click here.

Gaining credits towards national qualifications offers a number of benefits for Māōri learners including the recognition of existing skills such as fluency in Māori language. For more information on prior learning click here.

Māori learners can also access a number of Māori language services and publications from NZQA.
