Kai Tech Ltd - Te Akomanga no nga hua a Tangaroa
STEP Adding any additional information outside your QMS to your application
While Kai Tech had a comprehensive QMS document there was still some additional information they needed to include in their application. Director Michelle Trow says the best advice she can offer providers is to check with your NZQA Case Manager.
"They will tell you what extra information you need aside from your QMS. We needed to send in a CV of the staff member that would be delivering the Reo Māori programme. We also needed to send a sample of assessment tasks and a programme outline for Reo Māori because this is the first time we've offered those unit standards."
For this part of the application, Director Paki Raumati rang an NZQA staff member in the Māori Qualifications Service to ask about assessment resources for Reo Māori. Assessment resources for Reo Māori are available on-line from Reo Māori resource
Michelle adapted these sample assessments to meet the specific needs of Kai Tech. "It's great to have sample task and programmes already packaged otherwise we'd either have to build our own resources or buy some from other providers."
NZQA produces some assessment material for free and providers offering the same unit standards may be prepared to share or sell their resources. You can also access a lot of assessment material on-line but the quality and price of those resources varies considerably.
