What is the outcome of an assessment of significant change?

This section answers these questions:

  • What is a significant change?
  • How do I notify NZQA of a significant change?
  • What is the process for assessing a significant change?
  • What is the outcome of an assessment of significant change?
  • How much does it cost for NZQA to assess the change?

Assessments of significant changes can result in six possible outcomes or a combination of some or all.

In assessments of change of ownership (sale of assets), NZQA will ensure the outcomes are processed simultaneously. This is to facilitate a smooth changeover of the registered entity. NZQA will:

  • cancel existing registration and accreditation and
  • set up new registration and accreditation
  • confirm course changes (if applicable)
  • confirm changes to sites (if applicable).

Provided that all required documentation has been received in a timely manner the outcome will be notified to the organisation within 30 working days of the receipt of the notification.
