If you are on this page you have probably determined that you need to be registered as a private training establishment (PTE). If not, go back to the homepage and work through the questions.
Registration provides assurance to learners and the Crown that the PTE meets the requirements of section 236 of the Education Act 1989 and the requirements of Quality Assurance (QA) Standard One.
NZQA is required under legislation to "establish policies and criteria for the registration of private training establishments". QA Standard One consists of policies and criteria that NZQA has established for the registration of PTEs, government training establishments (GTEs) and wānanga.
Once registered, your organisation must at all times comply with the relevant policies and criteria established by NZQA. To maintain registration you must show through the audit process that you continue to meet these requirements.
