What if I want a decision reviewed?
This section answers these questions:
|
Decisions relating to audits and applications are internally reviewed as a matter of standard procedure before the organisation is notified of the outcome. However, organisations may apply for an independent review of any decision issued by the Quality Assurance Division (QAD) of NZQA.
Audit cycle review
QAD has a formal review procedure relating to audit cycle decisions. Full information on the grounds for seeking a review and how to apply for a review is contained in the Review of Audit Cycle application pack.
Application reviews
Organisations may have concerns about decisions relating to applications, for example registration, course approval or NQF accreditation. If so, they should write to the manager whose contact details appear in the outcome letter, outlining the specific concerns. The manager will review the application and respond in writing with a subsequent decision.
Appeals of review decisions
Where an organisation is still not satisfied after a decision has been formally reviewed or discussed with the relevant manager, it may seek referral to the Deputy Chief Executive of the Quality Assurance Division.
How much does a review cost?
An organisation will only be charged the standard hourly rate to recover costs if no changes to the decision are made. If the decision is changed, no costs will be incurred.
