NZQA service units produce a range of assessment resources for use by those involved in assessment and moderation.

- Customer Resource Services is the sales division of NZQA. Students and teachers can order resources in preparation for NCEA and University Entrance, Bursary and Scholarships examinations. There is also resources for current and potential training providers as well as workplace assessors, trainers and employers using the National Qualifications Framework.
- Māori Qualifications Services generates new qualifications, reviews standards in field Māori , promotes the uptake of Māori qualifications and provides assessment resources and training for tutors and teachers. Contact: Māori Qualifications Services
- National Qualifications Services develops, maintains and promotes unit standards and national qualifications that are not the responsibility of an Industry Training Organisation (ITO) or the National Standards Body (NSB) Māori .
- Tertiary assessment and moderation works with tertiary providers and learners. The unit ensures that the assessment and moderation services supplied to providers are appropriate for high-quality assessment and certification in the tertiary area. Contact: Tertiary, Assessment and Moderation
