Unit standard review support package

If you are embarking upon a review of unit standards, Framework Registration will provide a review support package on request. It is advisable to request this information well before the planned start of consultation.

The review support package consists of:

1) Electronic versions of the unit standards to be reviewed

2) Qualification Impact Report

This is an Excel Workbook with spreadsheets of qualifications that might be affected by the review.

NQF qualifications that refer to

Specific unit standards
The subfields or domains in elective sets

3) Provider Impact Report

This is a Text file that lists all provider accreditations that might be affected by the review.

Providers with:

Field accreditation
Subfield accreditation
Domain accreditation
Unit standard accreditation

4) Draft Review Report with current unit standard details in the summary table

This report, when completed, is published on the NZQA Website.

The review support package will be emailed to you with WinZip file within 10 working days.

Maintaining qualifications

Qualifications may need to be maintained if they are affected by a unit standard review that has been carried out by another SSB. SSBs responsible for the affected qualifications will have been informed as part of the review consultation process.

New versions of unit standards, replacement unit standards, or unit standards designated to expire as a result of review may impact on the attainability of a qualification. Changes to the classification system may also impact on qualifications if those classifications are specified in elective sets.

If the Requirements for Award of the qualification need amendment as a result of the review then the qualification should be maintained. The documentation requirements for maintenance are the same as those listed for the revision of qualifications.

On request, Framework Registration will draft and reissue a new version of a qualification when the only changes required have occurred as a result of a review by another SSB.
