Te Hono o Te Kahurangi - Approval to develop and list a legislated Wānanga qualification

Legislated Wānanga can apply for approval to develop and list a qualification on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework.

The decision to approve and list a new Legislated Wānanga qualification is based on ‘distinct value and genuine need’ and the ‘quality and sufficiency’ of evidence.

Written verification from Te Tau Ihu o Ngā Wānanga as consistent with the Iwi Wānanga and NZQA Terms of Reference must be submitted with the application.

NZQA has provided a Te Hono o Te Kahurangi Legislated Wānanga qualification template (DOCX, 73KB).
