Assessment and Examination Rules and Procedures for Secondary Schools - 2009

6.1.2 Examination Supervision

  1. A school must recommend to the New Zealand Qualifications Authority a suitable person for appointment as that school's examination centre manager by 1 July in the year of the examination. the New Zealand Qualifications Authority will then appoint this nominee or seek another nomination.

  2. The examination centre manager must appoint supervisors for the examination centre in accordance with the supervision schedule issued by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority.

  3. The examination centre manager must ensure that all instructions issued by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority for the control of the examination centre are carried out, and comply with the New Zealand Qualifications Authority Code of Conduct.

  4. Candidates at each examination centre must comply with the instructions of the Qualifications Authority, examination centre manager and supervisors.

  5. The Principal's Nominee must ensure that suitable accommodation and equipment are available for each examination, and provide support as appropriate for the Examination Centre Manager.

  6. The Qualifications Authority can withdraw the appointment of any examination centre manager or supervisor.
