6.1 General Conditions for External Assessment
Examination Clash Management

Advise students whose selected courses will generate examination clashes and adjust courses or discuss assessment options as necessary. |
| 1st month May –September | External entry files submitted to NZQA. Examination clash candidates identified in Exam Report in Key Indicators. |
Check Exam Report on the Key Indicators after every file submission.

| August | Suggested times for examination papers published by circular | Confirm external entries of candidates with potential clashes and discuss how the clash/es may be managed. For candidates with an examination clash, determine whether all standards entered can be completed within a single examination session. If so, inform candidate that they will complete standards for both examination subjects within the same 3 hour session and liaise with ECM to accommodate this. |
| September-October | Examination Centre Management planning | Liaise with ECM to plan for candidates with examination clashes that cannot be accommodated within a single session. Send letters to candidates informing them of the sequestering arrangements for their examination clashes. |
