How do we appeal a moderation report?
Review the moderation report from NZQA, available on the school provider login.
Process
| Task | Outcome | |
| Step 1 | Identify the issues or areas of the report which you believe are in error, or with which you disagree | |
| Step 2 | Discuss the report and your concerns with the school's Principal's Nominee. Endeavour to differentiate between factual inaccuracies or errors, and matters of professional judgement | PN will consider concerns |
| Step 3 | Collate or re-gather the same material originally sent for Moderation. NB: an appeal cannot proceed without the original material to be re-considered. | |
| Step 4 | If the PN is in agreement, s/he will contact NZQA's School Relationship Manager to discuss the concerns | SRM will review the material and consider the concerns |
| Step 5 | If the SRM believes the concerns deem it sensible, the materials will be passed to the appropriate National Moderator for re-consideration - independent of the actual moderator | |
| Step 6 | The National Moderator will present a revised moderation report where s/he determines the appeal is to upheld, and communicate the outcome of the appeal directly to the school. | final moderation report |
