Best Practice Workshops for Secondary Teachers

Understanding National Standards

These 4 hour workshops will be conducted by NZQA secondary moderators.

Purpose
  • Clarify your understanding of grade boundaries of internally assessed standards
  • Work with supplied assessment materials including samples of student work.
  • Engage in professional discussion

NB: These workshops cover the same content as the Nov/Dec 2008 Moderator Best Practice Workshops.

Workshop Schedule

The workshop dates are:

During the weeks of Deadlines for registration
20 - 24 April Friday 20 March
13 - 17 July Friday 12 June (NB: school holiday period)
5 - 9 October Friday 4 September (NB: school holiday period)
16 - 20 November Friday 16 October (NB: first week of examinations)

The cost is $95 (GST inclusive) per person, invoiced to your school or organisation.

Each workshop will be limited to 20 participants each and will run subject to sufficient numbers.

Registrations

Step 1: We suggest you open a two windows (press the Ctrl + N keys) so you can see both the Registration Form and the schedule at the same time.

Step 2: Complete the details about you and your school on the Registration Form.

Step 3 : Check the schedule below for each of the subjects you're interested in through the links below.

Step 4 : Assign teachers to the appropriate workshop in the Registration Form (to a maximum of 10 individuals per Form). You will need to complete several Forms if you have more than 10 participants.

Please Note: Confirmation of attendance will be emailed to the school contact person after the registration deadline.

Schools will not be invoiced for cancellations if notice is received prior to confirmation of registrations: email workshops@nzqa.govt.nz.

Refunds will NOT be given after attendance has been confirmed, nor for non-attendance.
