What needs to happen after an MNA visit?
Debrief
At the conclusion of the system check visit the School Relationship Manager will meet with the Principal, Principal's Nominee and other senior staff to give a verbal report on the findings of the visit.
This is an initial report only, and is to be viewed as draft only.
Prepare MNA report
After the completion of the visit, the School Relationship Manager will draft an MNA Report. This will include 3 key sections:
- review of the progress or actions since the previous Report
- review of the findings of the current visit
- recommendations for action (if required)
Review factual accuracy of the report
The draft MNA Report will be provided to the Principal and Principal's Nominee for review.
They are invited to indicate where the report is factually inaccurate, or to comment on any other matters they believe the report is incorrect.
Publish report
After the school has, if required, indicated where the report is factually inaccurate, or commented on any other matters, their views are considered by NZQA and the report amended if necessary.
The Report is then published.
Action Plan
An Action Plan will be jointly developed by NZQA staff and the school. It will address concerns raised in the MNA Report, and will form the basis for part of the next system check visit by NZQA.
Implement Action Plan
The school is responsible for implementing the Action Plan. NZQA staff will, however, assist with guidance, advice and any other help they can provide.
