Requirements for individual teachers
Individual teachers will be involved in the system check visit if you are a Head of Department, Head of Faculty or Teacher in Charge and the Principal has indicated your learning area will be reviewed.
What is needed?
You need to have assembled, have accessible, and be prepared to explain and discuss:
- Course outlines and/or assessment statements provided to students
- samples of assessment material
- evidence of the quality assurance processes used
- analysis of previous years' results
- example of how students' results are recorded
- external moderation reports from the previous year and evidence of follow-up action
Other teachers
If you don't have subject responsibilities you are unlikely to be directly involved in a system check visit. However, you are expected to comply with the school's policies on
- assessment practices
- recording of students' results
- updating of school records
- retaining sample assessed work
- design and development of assessment activities and materials
In other words, the role of all teachers as professional practioners.
