Review of Seafood and Seafood Māori AMAP
The Seafood Industry Training Organisation (SITO) has completed the review of the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP) above.

The next AMAP review is planned to take place during 2010.
Summary of review and consultation process
The review occurred as a result of SITO wishing to place itself in a better position to manage the risks associated with assessment of unit standards in the area of legislation and regulation. Twenty-three education organisations with seafood accreditation were advised of the rationale for the proposed new Seafood Risk Management domain.
Compliance with new requirements
Accreditation requirements will apply with effect from April 2008.
Accredited organisations will be audited for compliance with AMAP requirements from April 2008 onwards.

Industry or sector-specific requirements for accreditation
· Criterion 1 Requirements have been added for managing occupational safety and health and statutory requirements that specifically address Licensed Fish Receiver and Electronic Certification systems and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point plans for unit standards in the Seafood Risk management domain.
· Criterion 6 Requirement has been added for Licensed Fish Receiver certification for unit standards in the Seafood Risk management domain.
· Criterion 7 Requirements have been added to ensure compliance with specific requirements for unit standards from the Seafood or Seafood Māori subfield that focus on legislation, regulatory compliance, risk management or where specialised technical expertise is required. A hyperlink to the SITO Assessment Policy on the SITO website has been provided.
