Revision of Forestry, Biosecurity, and wood related manufacturing and processing AMAP
FITEC has revised the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP) above.
Date new version published January 2008
The next AMAP review is planned to take place during 2012.
Reason for the revision
This AMAP has been updated to meet the requirements of the current NZQA AMAP template and to provide greater clarity in the wording of industry specific requirements for accreditation. Moderation information has also been updated to reflect improvements to FITEC's national external moderation system and provide more detail to assist accredited organisations in complying with FITEC requirements. These changes have been presented to, and approved by all FITEC sector committees.
Compliance with new requirements
Accreditation requirements will apply with effect from February 2008.
Moderation system requirements will apply with effect from February 2008.
Accredited organisations will be audited for compliance with AMAP requirements from July 2008 onwards.

ACCREDITATION INFORMATION (AI)
Industry or sector-specific requirements for accreditation
· The wording of all criteria have been adjusted to meet NZQA requirements and to provide greater clarity.
MODERATION INFORMATION (MI)
Moderation System
· There have been some changes to FITEC's national external moderation system. These changes are aimed at improving the consistency of assessment nationally in the forest industries with a view to improving safety, health, production, quality and environmental performance. FITEC has also revised the wording of the moderation information to assist accredited organisations in identifying the requirements of the national external moderation system with a view to improving participation and compliance.

· There have been some changes to the way in which FITEC will gather feedback on the national external moderation system.
