Revision of Conservation qualification
National Certificate in Conservation (Trainee Ranger) (Level 3) [Ref: 0642]
Learning State (trading name of the Public Sector Training Organisation) has revised the qualification listed above.
Date new version published January 2008
The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2009.
Reason for the revision
Unit 5059, Demonstrate understanding of safety with agrichemicals, and Unit 5060, Apply an agrichemical using a non-motorised applicator, have expired. Some existing candidates cannot complete this qualification until these standards are replaced.
Main changes resulting from the revision
Changes to structure and content
· standards 5059 and 5060 replaced by 21563 and 21564
· standards 424 and 1667 – credit increased from 3 to 5
· standard 14950 – title amended and credit increased from 4 to 6
· standard 11095 – level decreased from 4 to 3
· minimum credits for the qualification increased from 121 to 133.
Transition
Existing candidates currently working towards version 2 of the qualification can complete that version or transfer to version 3.
This qualification contains standards that replace earlier standards. For the purposes of this qualification, people who have gained credit for the expiring standards are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the replacement standards – see table below.
