Revision of Hospitality qualifications
National Certificate in Hospitality (Small Business Management) (Level 4) [Ref: 1145]
National Diploma in Hospitality (Management) (Level 5) [Ref: 0769]
The Hospitality Standards Institute has revised the qualifications listed above.
Date new versions published January 2008
The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2010.
Reason for the revision
The revision was conducted to take account of the review of unit standards in Field Business and the review of NZ Diploma in Business.
Main changes resulting from the revision
National Certificate in Hospitality (Small Business Management) (Level 4) [Ref: 1145]
Changes to structure and content
· Replacement of expiring standards 11994 and 17497 in the compulsory section.
· Business subfield and domain names were updated.
· Standards 4098 and 18203 were added to Elective 2 and standard 9706 was removed.
· Credit total reduced from 67 to 66 credits.
National Diploma in Hospitality (Management) (Level 5) [Ref: 0769]
Changes to structure and content
· Credit transfer arrangements updated.
Transition
People currently working towards the previous versions of these qualifications may either complete the requirements for those versions or transfer their results to the new versions.
The last date for assessments to take place for version 1 of the National Certificate in Hospitality (Small Business management) (Level 4) [Ref: 1145] is 31 December 2009.
The last date for assessments to take place for version 3 of the National Diploma in Hospitality (Management) (Level 5) [Ref: 0769] is 31 December 2012.
