The NZQA National Qualifications Services (NQS) has completed the review of the qualifications and unit standards listed above.
Date new versions published December 2010
Summary
In 2010 NQS began a rationalisation of Level 4 and above Arts and Crafts standards and qualifications. As part of this rationalisation, usage of Arts and Crafts qualifications and standards was considered.
In the years 2001-2009 the National Certificates in Performing Arts General (Level 4), Performing Arts General (Level 6), Performing Arts Management (Level 4) and the National Diploma in Performing Arts General (Level 5) had no awards. NQS therefore recommended expiry of the four qualifications without replacement.
The standards in the domains Performing Arts Management and Performing Artist Self Management, including Level 3 unit standard 14958, were also considered as part of this process. Usage of these standards had been low and declining since 2005. NQS therefore recommended expiry of the nine Performing Arts standards without replacement.
Consultation with accredited providers occurred in August 2010. Consultation was conducted via a dedicated page on the NZQA website. Accredited providers were notified and sent a link via email. Consultation confirmed that no programmes are being offered for these qualifications and NQS is not aware of any existing trainees.

Transition
The Performing Arts qualifications in this review were designated expiring and the last date for completing assessments for the qualifications was set as December 2013.
The last date for entry to training or programmes leading to these qualifications is February 2012.
As noted above, NQS is not aware of any existing trainees; however, anyone who feels they have been disadvantaged by this review may appeal to NZQA National Qualifications Services (contact details below).
