The Fire and Rescue Services Industry Training Organisation (FRSITO) has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.

Summary
This review was undertaken to ensure the currency of unit standards associated with the use of aircraft at emergency incidents and vegetation fires.
Changes to these unit standards were based on comments received from the industry over an extensive consultation and feedback process. The comments were considered by a group of industry representatives, including personnel from the National Rural Fire Authority, Department of Conservation, New Zealand Forest Owners Association, New Zealand Fire Service, territorial fire authorities, and the Aviation Industry Association New Zealand. The reviewed standards were endorsed by FRSITO's Training Advisory Group.
The focus of the review was to improve the quality of the unit standards, and ensure they would meet the current needs of industry.
Main changes
· Entry information, outcomes, evidence requirements, range statements, and explanatory notes were updated to reflect the current needs of the fire and rescue services industry.
· Titles of standards 3288 and 14563 were amended to better reflect their outcomes.
