NZ Motor Industry Training Organisation (Incorporated) (MITO) has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.
Date new versions published May 2012
Planned review date December 2017
Summary
These standards are well established and feedback from industry stakeholders who use the standards indicated that only fairly minor changes were required. Initial amendments were made in response to the feedback received from industry and in consultation with the NZ Transport Agency (NZTA), a major stakeholder in relation to these unit standards.
The amended versions of the standards were placed on the MITO website. Industry stakeholders were notified and invited to comment on the drafts. Good feedback response was received, with most of the suggested amendments being fairly minor.
A MITO/NZTA working group considered each of the feedback comments and suggestions received from the industry consultation. A number of amendments were made to the draft standards to reflect the consultation feedback.
Main changes
· Legislation and other references included in the standards have been updated.
· Wording and format of some of the explanatory notes, outcome statements, and evidence requirements have been simplified for greater clarity.
· Some amendments have been made to slightly reduce the theory related requirements in the Driver Licence Classes standards, as the predominant requirement for these standards is demonstration of the practical skills.
· The wording of some outcome statements and evidence requirements has been amended to more accurately and clearly reflect the intended requirements of the standards.
