Date new version of Ref: 0928 published and Ref: 0973 republished March 2013
The next qualifications review is planned to take place during 2016.
Reason for revision and republication
The lists of standards that can be used to meet the Literacy and Numeracy requirements have been updated to include NZC aligned standards at Level 3.
The transition arrangements for the qualifications have been aligned to ensure equity. This ensures that students undertaking assessment for the NCEA qualifications are meeting the same requirements wherever their learning is being delivered.
NCEA Level 2 was changed to ensure that students who had already met NCEA literacy and numeracy requirements for NCEA Level 1 were not required to undertake any further work.
