The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2022.

Summary of review and consultation process

The review occurred to address future industry needs that have been identified since the rollout of the two original New Zealand certificates which were created in 2012.  The existing Level 3 and 4 qualifications have now been replaced by a single Level 4 qualification.

Industry specialists provided graduate outcome content which was verified by extensive consultation with industry stakeholders.  Current and future graduate capability requirements were re-determined.

The new qualification provides for a combined practical on-job and theoretical training specification.

The strands provide optional training extension opportunities according to workplace specialisation or candidate interest.
