Summary
As a result of work carried out by MITO on the Targeted Review of Qualifications, unit standards from the Stevedoring and Ports Industry subfield have been reviewed. These unit standards were reviewed using input from industry and provider representatives. The next full review will take place in five years time.
Main changes
· Changes were made to the explanatory notes, evidence requirements and range statements of the unit standards for clarity and to ensure alignment with relevant industry standards and regulations.
· Unit standard 28899 was set to expiring and is being replaced by unit standard 30223.
· Unit standard 28902 had changes made to the title, outcomes and evidence requirements to make the unit standards theory-based only.
· Unit standard 28904 was increased by 10 credits to better reflect the time required to complete the unit standard.
· Unit standard 30222 was created as industry identified a gap in the required knowledge for the industry.
The Category C unit standard will expire at the end of December 2022
