Summary of review and consultation process

Due to the merger of the Electricity Supply ITO with the Infrastructure ITO in 2013, the review of some electrical qualifications were deferred. Connexis is now ensuring that any remaining National Certificates in Electricity Supply are given priority for review.

The review of the Operator qualifications followed the stakeholder collaboration process and determined that there was a need for a New Zealand Certificate in Electricity Supply (Operation) with an optional strand in Hydro Operation (Level 4) and a separate qualification for Network Operation.

Main changes resulting from the review

National Certificate in Electricity Supply (Thermal Operator) (Level 4) with strands in Thermal operations, Combined Cycle Operations, and Geothermal operations [Ref: 0894]

National Certificate in Electricity Supply (Hydro Operator) [Ref: 1405]

replaced by

New Zealand Certificate in Electricity Supply (Operation) with an optional strand in Hydro Operation (Level 4) [Ref: 3687]
