Review of Aviation qualification
New Zealand Certificate in Aviation (Uninhabited Aerial Vehicle Operations Pilot) (Level 4) [Ref: 2183]
ServiceIQ has reviewed the qualification listed above.
Reason for the review
The review was prompted by the lack of industry take up of the qualification. The qualification was originally developed in 2013 and was “over-developed” in lieu of not having any Civil Aviation Authority Rules governing the use and operation of UAVs (drones). Since the original development, the CAA has introduced two rules. Following consultation in 2018, it was identified the qualification is not fit for purpose and should be discontinued.
Main changes resulting from the review
This qualification is no longer required and is discontinued with immediate effect. This qualification has not been replaced.
