Summary of review and consultation process

Consultation with stakeholders and other standard setting bodies occurred from October 2018.  The qualification was reviewed in March 2020 by a group of industry representatives.  They confirmed the continuing need for qualified and competent procurement practitioners who understand the Government Procurement Rules and can apply good practice in tendering activities.  The results of the review were endorsed by stakeholders in an email consultation.

Main changes resulting from the review

· The Strategic Purpose Statement was updated to reflect the new edition of the Government Procurement Rules.

· The qualification was transferred to the current template. 

· Qualification specifications were updated to meet the most recent requirements for Evidence for Consistency.

· A general condition for programmes was added to refer to the new edition of the Government Procurement Rules.
