Careerforce has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.
Date new versions published May 2021
Planned review date December 2026
Summary
The unit standards in the Brain Injury Support domain were reviewed because they had reached their scheduled review date. Feedback on the registered standards was requested from a focus group comprising key industry representatives. That feedback informed the amended drafts, which were disseminated for industry wide consultation through the Careerforce website and by email. Consultation indicated the standards were largely fit for purpose except standard 26892, which was designated expiring.
Main changes
· Titles were amended to reflect the main learning outcome. Sub-outcomes were removed from titles.
· Unit standard 26892 was designated expiring. Consultation noted that the standard was not fit-for-purpose and had been removed from some programmes. The outcomes assessed by the unit standard were already explicit in the other unit standards in the domain except unit standard 26893.
· A practical outcome covering support was included in unit standard 26893. The credit total was not adjusted because it was already comparable to other similar practical standards in the domain.
· Guidance Information was updated for currency. Definitions were amended for clarity and concision. Definitions describing service plan, rehabilitation plan, and care plan were amalgamated under a single definition for personal plan.
· Outcomes and performance criteria were amended for clarity and concision.
The Category D unit standard will expire at the end of December 2023
