Waihanga Ara Rau Construction and Infrastructure Workforce Development Council has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.
Date new versions published August 2023
Planned review date December 2028
Summary
Waihanga Ara Rau Construction and Infrastructure Workforce Development Council reviewed 15 unit standards from the Electronic Engineering subfield between February 2023 and May 2023. The review involved consultation with providers and industry representatives including the New Zealand Navy.
The review identified that 10 out of the15 unit standards will be designated expiring due to low or non-usage in the past five years. The remaining five unit standards that are being used were updated in line with current industry practices, standards, acts and regulations.
Main changes
· The 10 unit standards with low or no usage in the past five years were designated to expire.
· The five unit standards still in use were updated to meet industry requirements, current standards, acts and regulations.
· Unit standard 26724 was amended to include new range statements for performance criteria 1 and 2 covering transmitter equipment and receiver equipment.
· Standard setting details were updated to reflect the change of the standard setting body from ElectroTechnology Industry Training Organisation to Waihanga Ara Rau Construction and Infrastructure Workforce Development Council.
