Summary of review and consultation process

Waihanga Ara Rau Construction and Infrastructure Workforce Development Council emailed                                                 providers with consent to assess and companies with trainees in Network Control.  Information was provided on the Waihanga Ara Rau website.  Members of the network operations groups and Transpower engineers were surveyed on the need for changes to the Network Control qualification. 

A technical advisory group considered the survey responses and made no recommendations for change to the existing qualification.  The group supported the administrative changes listed below and recommended further investigation of common skills between companies for skill standard development in the future.

Main changes resulting from the review process

The qualification was transferred to the current NZQA template.

The education pathway was updated to include the New Zealand Certificate in Electricity Supply (Introductory) (Level 2) with strands in Electrical Works, and Wind Farm [Ref: 2136] and the amended title of the New Zealand Certificate in Energy and Chemical Process Operations (Level 5) [Ref: 2308].

Evidence for assuring consistency and General conditions for programme were modified to meet current WDC requirements.
