The Māori Qualifications Services (MQS) has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.

Summary
The review was undertaken as part of the planned cycle of review of MQS unit standards.
MQS along with the Whakaruruhau, reviewed the Tikanga unit standards to ensure that they remain fit for purpose, are relevant, and meet the aspirations and needs of ākonga, whānau, hapū and iwi.
Main changes
The main changes that were made to the standards include the following:
· Minor wording changes have been made to titles, purpose, guidance information, outcomes and performance criteria for relevancy, consistency and to provide clarity for users, assessors, and learners.
· Glossaries have been updated.
· Grammatical errors have been corrected.
· 16139 is set to expire December 2026. New standards 33305 and 33320 were created to replace this standard.
· 16051, 16143 and 31508, credits and levels were changed to reflect the work that is required to gain the credits.
Category C unit standards will expire at the end of December 2026.
The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is December 2025
