Summary
Leather and Shoe Research Association Incorporated (LASRA) requested removal of expiry status and re-instatement of six-unit standards which they would use in new programmes that are being developed to meet the changing nature of work in the industry sector.
As a result of this request, Hanga-Aro-Rau and LASRA had started reviewing these standards in August 2023. These standards have been endorsed for registration in November 2023.
Consultations were done via emails. LASRA also consulted with their industrial partners over this time.
The standards are fit for purpose and no changes were recommended by stakeholders involved in this review.
Main changes
· Expired standard 8014 has been reinstated.
· Expiring standards 8013, 8015, 8017, 21830, and 27904 have been made current.
· Title of unit standard 8017 was amended to better align with the outcomes.
· Legislation has been updated for currency.
· Standard setting body updated from Primary Industry Training Organisation to Hanga-Aro-Rau Manufacturing, Engineering and Logistics Workforce Development Council.
